  1. Line 1

Your starting five skaters. Three forwards and two defenders.

  2. Line 2

Five more skaters who can come on during match line changes.

  3. Goalie

The G slot is separate from both skater lines.

  4. Bench

Your reserves. Move them into a line or the goalie slot to use them in a match.

Stars show ability.
The bar shows stamina.

A highly rated player can still be tired. Look at both parts of the card before choosing a replacement.

Overall stars
Stars summarize the player’s attributes. Five stars is the top of the scale. A loss of stamina does not lower this rating.
Stamina bar
The colored bar shows stamina remaining. A shorter bar means a more tired player. Tap the card to see the stamina value and individual attributes.

Make a change

Move a reserve into the lineup

You choose the player to replace. The two players exchange places, and the other lineup slots stay as they were.

  1. Hold a reserve card

Start from the Bench section at the bottom of Roster.

  2. Drag onto a matching slot

Eligible cards get a gold outline. You can choose a matching position in either skater line.

  3. Release to swap

The reserve takes that exact slot. The replaced player moves to the reserve’s bench place. Releasing away from an eligible card cancels the move.

ReserveEligible slots
Forward (F)LW, C or RW in either line
Defender (D)LD or RD in either line
Goalie (G)The goalie slot

A forward can move between the three forward positions. A defender cannot replace a forward, and a skater cannot replace a goalie.

Match readiness

What fatigue changes

Low stamina reduces a skater’s speed and acceleration. Their overall stars stay the same.

During a match

Skaters on the ice use stamina. Skaters resting on the match bench recover it, and line changes bring in players from the other line.

The reserve Bench on the roster screen is separate. A reserve must join the lineup before they can play.

After a game

The results recover part of the stamina lost in that game. This does not guarantee a full bar for the next match.

Check the roster again before you start.

A sample decision

Keep Jarvi or bring in Pucktersson?

These are the two forwards from the roster above. Their stamina values were set up for this example.

Jarvi’s game card with four and a half stars and a short orange stamina bar.

Line 1 · Left wing

Knut Jarvi

Overall
4.5 stars
Stamina
28%

Higher attributes, but low stamina is reducing his skating.

Pucktersson’s game card with three stars and a nearly full green stamina bar.

Bench · Forward

Elias Pucktersson

Overall
3 stars
Stamina
92%

Lower attributes, with much more stamina available for the match.

Choose for the job you need

If you want a fresh forward in this slot, bring in Pucktersson. His F position lets him take Jarvi’s LW place. Jarvi moves to Bench with his rating and remaining stamina intact.

Keeping Jarvi is also a choice. His stronger attributes may matter to you despite the fatigue. Open both player cards and compare their Speed and other attributes before deciding.

A fuller stamina bar alone does not prove that Pucktersson will skate faster or give you a better chance of winning.

After signing

Find new free agents on the bench

A newly signed free agent joins your reserve Bench. Signing them does not choose a lineup slot for you. Return to Roster, check their position and stamina, then swap them in when you are ready.

Read free agents and contracts for signing costs and contract details.

Once they are in the lineup, the player development guide explains match XP and growth.
